Our Class Week of Dec 17th


For this week, we will continue with Chapter 11 of the textbook (Sections 1-3).

The focus of this chapter will center on The Industrial Revolution and its wide ranging impact on American (World) History. Sections 2 & 3 of this chapter will focus on the improvements in transportation and the impact of the factory system. This will be a short week for the students as we enter our Holiday break. There will no test this week. We will continue with chapter 11 after we return from the holidays and have a chapter test later that week.Students should continue working on their past assigned timeline entries. Our Class Week of Dec 10th

For this week, we will continue with Chapter 10 of the textbook (Sections 3 - 5).

From Chapter 10 sections 4 & 5: The road to war: The causes and effects of the War of 1812. Monday and Tuesday will review these final sections of chapter 10 with special focus on the War of 1812. Our test will most likely be Tuesday, Dec 11th. After our test, which will be this Tuesday or Wednesday, we will start Chapter 11 of the textbook. The focus of this chapter will be the Industrial Revolution.

Students should continue working on their past assigned timeline entries. We do have a new timeline entry for this chapter. See the Home Work page for more info.

Our Class Week of Dec 3rd


For this week, we will continue with Chapter 10 of the textbook (Sections 3 - 5).

Class topics will include: From Chapter 10 section 3: Our first war: War with Tripoli.

From Chapter 10 sections 4 & 5: The road to war: The causes and effects of the War of 1812.

Students should continue working on their past assigned timeline entries. Timeline entries will be check this Friday, Dec 7th. See the Home Work page for more info.

Our Class Week of Nov 26th

For this week, we will start Chapter 10 of the textbook (Sections 1 & 2)

Class topics will include: From Chapter 10 section 1: A look at our nation after Thomas Jefferson takes office as President.

From Chapter 10 section 2: We will examine the Louisiana Purchase.

Students should continue working on their past assigned timeline entries and their Preamble project. The Preamble Project is Due this Thursday the 29th. Also, we will add on a new Timeline Entry. See the Home Work page for more info. We will also have our Chapter 9 and Chapter 10(sections 1& 2 only) test this Friday.

Our Class Week of Nov 19th


For this week, will continue to look at our Nations’ New Government. Note this week is a two day week.

Class topics will include: From Chapter 9 a review of sections 1 - 3. There will be no new timeline assignments for this week. Students should continue working on their past assigned timeline entries and their Preamble project. Happy Thanksgiving!

Our Class Week of Nov 13th

For this week, will begin our look at the Nations’ New Government. Note this week is a four day week.

Class topics will include: From Chapter 9

From Section 1: Washington Takes Office

From Sections 2 & 3: We will examine the cause and effects of Political Parties in America.

From Section 4: We will examine our Second President: John Adams.

We will not have a new timeline entry for this week. Students should continue to work on timeline entries #10 & #11. See the “Homework & Project News” page for more info. We will also review our test results from the Ch7 & Ch8 Test.

Our Class Week of Nov 5th


For this week, we will continue to examine the Constitution and our Government. We will be working from the Constitution section of the textbook and Chapter 8.

Class topics will include: From Chapter 8

From Section 1: Goals and Principles of the Constitution.

From Sections 2: How the Federal Government Works

From Section 3: Changing the Constitution

From Section 4: State and Federal Government

From Section 5: Rights and Responsibilities of Citzenship

From the Constitution Section of the textbook, we will continue our look at the U.S. Constitution. (The Preamble, Articles, and Amendments). Special focus will be given to the Bill of Rights.

We will have a new timeline entry assigned this week. See the “Homework & Project News” page for more info.  Our next test will combine Chapters 7 & 8.

Our Class Week of Oct 22th

For this week, after we take our Ch5&6 Test Monday, we will start working out of Chapter  7 “Creating A Republic” and the “Constitution” Section of the textbook. We will be discussing the Constitution all this week.

Class topics will include:

From Section 1: The topic will be Our First Constitution: “The Articles Of Confederation”

From Sections 2-4: The debates of the Federalists & The Anti-Federalists: “The Ratification of the Constitution”

From the Constitution Section of the textbook, we will be began a close up look at the U.S. Constitution. (The Preamble, Articles, and Amendments). Special focus will be given to the Bill of Rights.

We will have a new timeline entry assigned this week. See the “Homework & Project News” page for more info.  The Chapter 5 & 6 test will be Monday Oct 22nd.

Our Class Week of Oct 15th

For this week we will start working out of Chapter 6 (The American Revolution) of the textbook. We will be discussing the American Revolution all this week.

Class topics will include:

From Section 1: The topic will be “Fighting Begins”

From Section 2: The Declaration of Independence is written:  “The Colonies Declare Independence.

From Section 3: The Turning points in the war for the Americans.

From Sections 4 & 5: The War is Won: The British Surrender at Yorktown and the Treaty of Paris 1783.

We will have 2 new timeline entries assigned this week. See the “Homework & Project News” page for more info. There will not be a separate Chapter 5 TEST. We will combine Chapter 5 with Chapter 6 on the next test. The Chapter 5 & 6 test is projeced for Monday Oct 22nd. Students will notified if the projected date changes.

Our Class Week of Oct 10th

For this short week we will continue working out of Chapter 5 (Crisis In The Colonies) of the textbook.

Class topics will include: Starting Wednesday:

From Section 3: The topic will be “From Protest to Revolution.” We will continue to study the causes of the American Revolution.

We will have a new timeline entry assigned this week (The Boston Massacre). See the “Homework & Project News” page for more info. There will not be a separate Chapter 5 TEST. We will combine Chapter 5 with Chapter 6 on the next test.
