For the Week of Sept 2nd

For class this week: We will continue with Chapter 2:

Tuesday- We will continue looking at section 2 and Columbus’ famous voyage and discovery of the New World. The impact of the Columbian Exchange. *We will also have our first Picture Timeline Entry Assignment. See the Homework/Project page for details and the Event.

Wednesday – Thursday – We will focus on section 3 of the textbook with the topic “Spanish Empires In the New World.”

Friday -We will start with section 4 and introduce how European nations react to Spain’s new empire and wealth. Most of the day will be used to review topics from Mon – Thurs.

For the Week of Aug 25th

For class this week: We will finish chapter 1 and start chapter 2:

Monday- Tuesday- We will finish chapter 1 section 4 and review for the test. The test is schedule for Tuesday.

Wednesday -We will begin Chapter 2 and start work on section 1. Our topic will be “New Empires In the Americas.”

Thursday & Friday -We will take a close up look at the impact of Columbus’ famous voyage and the beginnnings of the Spanish empire in the New World.

For the Week of Aug 18th

For class this week: From Chapter 1:

Monday- Wednesday- We will examine advanced civilizations in America before and during the arrival of Christopher Columbus. (Aztecs, Incas, & Mayans).

Thursday – We will examine Native America Cultures of North America: Chapter 1 section 2

Friday – We will examine West Africa & Europe before the Transatlanic Travel.
