Our Class Week of Oct 1st


This week we will be working out of Chapter 5 (Crisis In The Colonies) of the textbook. For Monday, we will have a short review of Chapter 4 and then take the Chapter 4 Test. The original test date was Thursday, but was moved to Monday.

Class topics will include: Starting Tuesday:

From Section 1: We will focus on the First Major European war in America. The French and Indian War.

From Section 2: We will focus on the effects of the French and Indian War and the “fall out” from taxation.

Our Class Week of Sept 24

This week we continue working out of Chapter 4 (The 13 British Colonies) of the textbook. Our focus will be on the last two sections of the chapter. Class topics will include:

From Section 4: We will examine the beginnings of self-government in the colonies.

From Section 5: We will focus on life in the 13 colonies, with emphasis on education and life for children.

*Expect a Test on Chapter 4 Thursday of this week. We will have a new timeline entry assigned this week (England Establishes 13 Colonies In North America). See the “Homework & Project News” page for more info.

Our Class Week of Sept 10th

This week we continue working out of Chapter 3 (Exploration and Colonization) of the textbook. Our focus will be on section 5 (Pilgrims and the Mayflower Compact).  Our Chapter 3 TEST will be this Wednesday. We’ll finish chapter 3 Monday, review the chapter on Tuesday and take our test Wednesday. We will start chapter 4 on Thursday and focus on the 13 English Colonies. Our Class Week of Sept 4th

This week we continue working out of Chapter 3 (Exploration and Colonization) of the textbook. Our focus will be on the last two sections of the chapter. Class topics will include:

From Section 4: We will examine England’s first 3 colonies in North America. (Roanoke, Jamestown, and Plymouth).

From Section 5: We will focus on the religious reasons behind settlement in the “New World.” (Pilgrims and the Mayflower Compact).
